The controller's case for Rever: keep the pen, catch the item before sign-off

AI agents for the close and the reconciliations, with every entry approved by your team before it leaves Rever.

A controller owns the close and the reconciliations, and gets judged on two failures: the close ran long, or the period reopened.

Rever is agentic AI finance automation, built by finance, for finance. It connects read-only to the ERP and banks you run. Eve, its agentic finance manager, coordinates fifteen specialist agents in five work groups, and the work they prepare waits for a person with the authority to approve it.

What the agents take off your desk

Matcher reconciles bank, card and processor activity to the books as transactions land, and ties each bill to its order, receipt and contract terms. Investigator traces an unexplained difference to the transaction, party or timing that caused it and recommends the correction.

Through the month, Close Orchestrator keeps tasks, reconciliations, schedules and sign-offs moving. Journal prepares accruals, reversals and correcting entries with their support. Flux Analyst explains movements against the prior period, the three-month average and plan. Evidence keeps the original records and calculations connected to each workpaper.

The accountability group watches the team itself. Sentinel flags suspicious vendor-bank changes and payment patterns. Steward watches feeds and syncs, so a stale bank statement shows up as a health item instead of a clean reconciliation. Auditor tests whether each agent followed its approved procedure. Spend Guard, Entitlement, Deduction, Revenue Assurance, Cash Pilot and Inventory cover duplicates, rebates, short payments, billing, the 13-week cash forecast and stock.

What stays yours

Decisions reach you in one place, the Inbox, each with its evidence and financial significance. Journal prepares an entry and cannot approve it; you approve it from its finding, and it comes back as an import file your team loads. Your team sets materiality, approval paths and dual approval for material amounts, entity by entity. For a vendor bank-detail change, Sentinel prepares an independent callback to a contact you already trust, and a Sentinel pass never stands in for your authorisation to move funds. External requests wait for your approval too. Rever's floors hold in every plan, Free included: Rever never writes to your systems, nothing leaves Rever without a recorded approval, and the identity that prepares an action cannot approve it.

The reopen

A period reopens when an item above materiality surfaces after sign-off. Close Orchestrator tracks dependencies and unresolved differences all month and will not certify an incomplete close: sign-off waits for you, with completed work, remaining exceptions and blockers in view. Evidence attaches support to each close entry as the work completes, so the checklist and the audit file are the same record.

Your blockers, answered

Your IT lead gets SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, encryption at rest and in transit, no training on customer data, SSO and SCIM on Enterprise, and a security pack on request. Your ERP admin gets read-only connections to NetSuite, Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, Stripe and your banks, built as direct integrations rather than an agent holding credentials, with source data left unchanged. Your auditor gets a recorded Inbox decision behind each approval and a path from every number to its finding, workpaper, record and verified outcome. Rever prices on scope, not seats, so everyone who reviews, approves or audits the work can be in Rever.

How to start

The first step is a free Proof of Value. You agree the scope: which entity, which systems, which period. Eve builds context on your business and policies, the zero-day scan runs the relevant checks across the in-scope population on a limited period of your data, and you walk through the supported findings with their evidence. Bring your systems, your close in days and one worry. If you are new in the seat, the first 30 days as controller sets out what to check first.

01FAQ

Questions

Does Rever post to my ERP?

No. Rever never writes to your systems. Journal prepares each entry and cannot approve its own work; when you approve it in the Inbox, it comes back as an import file your team loads, a .qbo file for QuickBooks today.

Who approves the work?

Your team does, from the Inbox, under the materiality, approval paths and dual approval thresholds you set in Settings. Every approval, question and send-back stays on record with what happened next.
