The close and the auditor

The checklist Close Orchestrator keeps is also the file for your sign-off and your auditor's PBC list.

Two people judge a controller's month: the CFO who wants the numbers early, and the auditor who wants to know how each number got there. Rever serves both from one record, because the checklist that tracks the work also holds its support.

Close Orchestrator

Close Orchestrator keeps the month-end close checklist tied to your business activity and accounting policy, and keeps tasks, reconciliations, schedules and sign-offs moving all month. It reviews the previous six months of close entries and adjustments, adds missing recurring tasks, verifies that opening reversals happened and reconciles estimates to actuals. It will not certify an incomplete close: sign-off waits for you, with completed work, remaining exceptions and blockers in view. Close Orchestrator checks completeness and leaves its own judgments for you to approve.

Journal

Journal recomputes accruals, provisions, depreciation and prepayments from the specialists' schedules and prepares each entry with its support. In the freight case, an illustrative case rather than a customer result, it drafts a $250 accrual that reverses on settlement. You approve each entry from its finding in the Inbox, with dual approval on material amounts at the threshold you set, and it comes back as an import file your team loads. Journal cannot approve its own entry; the CFO pack covers journal entry automation with an approval step.

Flux Analyst

Flux Analyst explains movements against the prior period, the three-month average and plan, down to the party and the transaction. It keeps the explained part apart from the residual, so you see what still needs a person. You can hand the CFO that paragraph, and the auditor can follow each figure to its source.

Evidence and the PBC list

Audit readiness is the state in which the support for each balance and entry is complete and filed before the auditor asks for it. In Rever you reach it as part of the close. Evidence attaches the support to every close entry and keeps a two-way link between each entry and its documents. Workpapers download in Excel with their source references, so the support is already attached when fieldwork begins. The Inbox keeps every approval, question and send-back as a recorded decision. Rever prices on scope, not seats, and everyone who reviews, approves or audits the work can be in Rever.

Auditor, the agent, tests whether each agent followed its approved procedure and states what it has not tested. Steward flags stale data and stalled tasks before they hide inside a clean-looking close.

The chases nobody owns

Every accounting team carries work that no product ships: chasing unclaimed vendor credits, open confirmations and the document that holds up a reconciliation. Agent Studio, in early access on Growth Pro and Enterprise, turns that chase into an agent. You describe the need, and Eve interviews your team about the duty, the evidence and the exceptions. She builds the workflow from automations already in Rever and records the SOP. The agent deploys with the same read-only connections and Inbox approvals as the fifteen, starts as an observer and earns its role on results.

Mapping Studio is a separate component: it maps your ERP into Rever, and mapping questions return to it.

Start with the close you have

The zero-day scan checks your connected records for unmatched bank items, accruals that never reversed, three-way match exceptions and duplicates, and keeps missing sources in view instead of counting them clean. In a free Proof of Value it runs on a limited period of your data. Bring your close in days, your reopen count from last quarter and the auditor's last PBC list.

01FAQ

Questions

What does the auditor see in Rever?

Your auditor sees each entry linked to its documents, the recorded Inbox decision behind each approval, and Excel workpapers that carry their source references. Auditor, Rever's testing agent, adds a statement of the procedures it tested and those it did not.

What blocks sign-off at month-end?

Close Orchestrator tracks unresolved differences, late adjustments and open blockers, and will not certify a close while they remain. Sign-off waits for you, with each remaining item in view and your decision recorded in the Inbox.
